"Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?"  The Unicorns  Release date: 2004
Label:

You want weird? Here it is. This record opens with a track entitled "I Don't Wanna Die" and then closes with "Ready To Die." In between, we get three songs about ghosts, some songs that sound like the theme music for old Nintendo games, and a song about the band called "I Was Born (A Unicorn)." Decidedly lo-fi, and a little "jokey" at times, there is still something strangely poignant about these weird little pop songs, and repeated listens will reveal that these songs are much more carefully crafted than it might appear at first. The Unicorns manage to cram addictive hooks into each and every tune, preventing this from being just a novelty exercise. While not for all tastes, this is a great record for people who like their pop music smart, strange, and a little on the experimental side. You have been warned. -Dave Mix, Apr.25.04
