Opening with a barrage of screeching sounds from the twin guitars of Ryo Kokura and support guitarist Matsuoka from Elevation, this is one of the most unrelenting records I've heard in a long time. Divided fairly arbitrarily into five tracks, this is thirty minutes of crashing drums and screaming guitars as Kokura and Matsuoka each attempt to out-noise the other while bassist Ai Ichinohe attempts the difficult and thankless task of trying to hold them all together. The decision to release this as a live CD is a wise one, not just because a lot of the energy and innocent passion of their on-stage performance would be lost in the studio but also because it is a powerful record of the band's brief but memorable period as a four-piece. -Ian Martin, Feb.22.05.
